Introduction
In the introduction, Cecilia Kang shares a brief history of the work as well as some useful information about its structure.
I. Moderato
In this first movement, Cecilia shares techniques for mastering the difficult arpeggios and trills that appear throughout this movement. She shows you how to divide the material and how to work material up slowly.
II. Largo
In the largo, Cecilia shows you how to use the Great Slow Downer to help with pulse, how to practice the clarinet's resistant D and offers a great technique for learning to phrase long lines.
III. Allegro
In the final allegro, Cecilia shows you techniques for practicing offbeats with a metronome, how to use legato articulation to avoid clipping slurs, and shares some fingering suggestions for the tricky F# and G altissimo notes that appear.
