Course Syllabus
from Chalumeau to Clarion
Kimberly Cole Luevano starts with the chalumeau to clarion break, that tricky moment where we go from having two fingers down to play a Bb to all the fingers down to play a B natural. She shares exercises from Jean-Jean and her teacher Elsa Ludwig-Verdehr, giving you all the tools to you need, no matter what issues you are having in mastering this tricky aspect of playing.
from Clarion to Altissimo
Kimberly Cole Luevano explains and demystifies the second break: the transition from the C at the top of the clarion range to the C# at the start of our altissimo. She shares more exercises from ELV and Kelly Burke, as well as some useful ways of using half-holing to help you work on this register shift. By the end of this course, you'll have a deep understanding of how to play in all of the clarinet's beautiful registers!
