Introduction
In the Introduction, Rossini goes full operatic clarinetist here with lines that leap around the instrument and offer a real challenge for any clarinetist taking on this work. Let Mariam Adam guide you through how to phrase and use rubato to let your personality shine as you wow your audience with this brilliant introduction!
Theme and Variation I
Here Mariam Adam emphasises playfulness and lightness in the theme and first variation, where a call-and-response style theme is followed by the first of the acrobatic variations. She helps you, among other things, with breathing and lightness in your articulation.
Variations II and III
For the second and third variations, Mariam Adam helps you with the challenge to your technique. Scales and arpeggios really come to the fore in this piece, and Mariam gives you the tools you need to master them, as well as offering helpful advice on phrasing and breathing!
Minor Variation and Finale
In the beautiful minor variation, we sing again like opera stars and Mariam Adam shows us how. We then burst into the exilerating finale, and in this last lesson you'll get helpful guidance on how to play with all the pizzazz that Rossini is asking for!
